tak explain ​

  • Usage: tak explain [--top <N>] <BASE> <HEAD>

Show which functions an instruction-count change came from.

Reads two sets of profiles written by tak run --profile-dir, pairs them by benchmark and subject, and prints the functions whose counts changed most as markdown. Reports only; it never fails on the numbers.

Arguments ​

  • <BASE> — Base profiles: a directory written by tak run --profile-dir, or one profile file.
  • <HEAD> — Head profiles, in the same form as the base.

Flags ​

  • --top <N> — Functions to list for each benchmark.

    Default: 10

  • -h --help — Print help
